Building on the Strategic Policy Alternatives Framework (SPAF) document published in 2017 and taking into consideration the developments of the conflict in Syria which have changed the power dynamics and brought about deep transformations in the Syrian society and economy in addition to the mounting losses and challenges for post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, the National Agenda for the Future of Syria (NAFS) Programme has commenced a substantive process to update the SPAF document to grasp the emerging scenarios for the end of the conflict and the relevant policy choices.

The aim of this consultation meeting is for the SPAF Update background paper writers to present their main findings and engage in a discussion with several experts and come up with solid recommendations for moving forward.
